What Customers Say About AudioSource Amp 200 High-Current Stereo Amplifier (80 Watts x 2):

It's pretty clean, but not exactly 'warm'.Honestly, I'm surprised you can get anything that sounds this good at this price. So 5-stars it is. The auto-on/off feature is a nice touch. We using a Squeezebox Duet as the sole input, and it drives a pair of Canton 602s. It's an excellent deal for the money. It's simple, well built, well thought-out, and sounds pretty good.Connection are all quite nice, controls are pleasant, and the standby/active indicator is effective without being obnoxious. Before even opening the box you'll notice that this little beasty is heavy. I am not an audiophile. But I am fairly picky. ;-)We've been very happy with this amp. In my simplistic analysis, the sound is fairly even across the frequency range allowing for only modest bass support as you would expect with these speakers.

At a price below $200 each amp this is a no brainer for anyone looking to go multi-room. I bridged the amps through the Line 2 In then Out and it works perfectly. M I'm building a 2-story addition, with a basement, onto my home and wanted to set up 6 sets of speakers exclusive from my main 7.1 receiver's powered speakers through the receiver's Zone 2. I purchased 3 Amp 200's to have one amp for each two sets of speakers, with an independent volume for each set, and it sounds great. Highly recommended and I'll let you know how things go later regarding reliability.

Heck, if I never bought the MF and went with audiosource, I could have another system or better speakers. On avsforums, the speaker designer recommends $800 amps to drive the speakers in order to get good current (MF, Rotel, etc). I would rather not limit the amp enough to run the SB at 60-90).I had an old receiver in the system and my era D4s would shut it down. How about that. It is driving a very inefficient pair of era D4 speakers.

Great value here - even if I ever encounter a problem, the money saved upfront will make up for it. This amp does a great job. I use it in my bedroom sytem with a Squeezebox, so I only need one input and I don't need a pre-amp. I have used this amp for about 9 months with no problems. (if you are wondering, I set the SB volume between 30 and 60 - I know you are supposed to run it high, but it sounds fine.

I actually have a monster MF amp in another system, but this audiosource is driving my most inefficient speakers.

I had some problems with first set up, as I had to get all the switches in the right places, but once I did it was excellent. The left right balance adjust is also very useful (not normally on power amps in my experience) - I have located the speakers for my Hot Tub for asthectics, so I needed some balanceing of the volumes from the two speakers. So I can play what ever I want from the squeeze box and then if I want to use my PC output I just put a signal on the line and it switches. I have my PC set up as input one and squeeze as input 2. So I bought one first and experimented. I have set up a system of squeezeboxes with these units as the power amps. They are all located in my furnace room and with the squeeze WiFi remote control system it all works well. The ability to over ride input 2 by putting a signal on to input 1 is excellent. It also switches back very smootly - not even a click.I was a little concerned after reading the reviews on this model and the smaller one.

Purchased this amp to power speakers in the kitchen, dining room and patio. Works great, has enough power, and the auto sensing power and second input are must have features.
